VA Disability Rates by Rating 2026
VA disability compensation is a rating benefit: the same dependent family is paid very different amounts at 30% and at 100%. Below is the official 2026 rate chart for every combined rating from 10% to 100%, published by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Pick your rating for its complete dependent table, the added amounts for larger families, and a calculator preset to that rating.

At 10% and 20%, every dependent status pays the same flat rate shown in the veteran-alone column; dependency add-ons begin at 30%. "With spouse and 2 children" is the published spouse-and-1-child rate plus the published amount for one additional child under 18. Each rating page carries the full 12-row dependent table for that rating, including dependent parents.
How to read the VA tables
The VA builds almost every payment in two steps. Step 1: find your basic rate. Look up your combined rating and your dependent status in the basic table: alone, with a spouse, with children, with dependent parents, or a combination. The basic rows already include your first child. Step 2: add amounts, if any apply. For each additional child, and if your spouse receives Aid and Attendance, add the published amount for your rating on top of the basic rate.
Worked example: a veteran rated 70% with a spouse and two children under 18 starts from the spouse-and-1-child basic rate of $2,074.45, adds $76.00 for the second child, and is paid $2,150.45 per month. Nothing else is multiplied or rounded; VA payments are simple addition once the rating is set.

| Each additional child over age 18 in a qualifying school program | $105.00 | $140.00 | $176.00 | $211.00 | $246.00 | $281.00 | $317.00 | $352.45 |
